NARS EYESHADOW GOLDFINGER, SWATCHES + REVIEW

This eyeshadow is my first ever purchase from NARS Cosmetics.
This brand is so hyped up by so many people that my expectations were sky high.

The cost of this shadow was $23.
.....that's pretty pricey for a single eyeshadow. (Is there like real gold in this or something?)

NARS describes this as a "24 karat shimmer" and they claim it's "highly pigmented, long wearing, crease resistant and colors apply smoothly and blend effortlessly."

Admittedly upon first glance at it, it's a lot duller than what the picture on the website looks like. You can see that here.

The texture is quite satiny and smooth but the color payoff.............................GUYS :'(

I was so disappointed. Pigmentation is definitely and most unfortunately lacking.

Don't get me wrong though. This shadow is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
It's just that, since there was such a hefty price tag, I was expecting A++ pigmentation.

The gold is really subtle and muted.
This would be great as an inner corner highlight or even a lid color.
However if you were expecting "BAM IN YOUR FACE GLORIUS GOLD EYELIDS" you might be slightly disappointed.
If you really want a brilliant, statement colored Gold shadow, you should consider Goldilux by Sugarpill for $12.

Goldfinger has a little bit of fall out but if you wear an eyeshadow primer before applying it, you should be fine :)

The packaging of the shadow is pretty heavy duty and I was really impressed by it. It comes in a neat compact with a really good mirror inside. The compact holds about 3.5g of eyeshadow. It's sturdy and this makes it great to travel with as you can be sure that there's little chance of damage.

To sum it up, this is a great little shadow.
But I have to be honest with you, I probably would not recommend this to a friend.
There are other cheaper shadows out there that are buttery soft and have a more pronounced color payoff. (If you guys know any, leave it in the comments below!)
